A remote app for Hisense TVs, on iPhone and iPad

Beam is an independent app, not affiliated with or endorsed by Hisense.

Beam controls Hisense TVs running VIDAA over Wi-Fi. The first time, most sets show a four digit code; type it in or scan it with the camera, and Beam reconnects after that on its own. Some older sets connect without one. The newest VIDAA sets admit only Hisense's own app, so there Beam opens a limited remote with the controls they still accept.

The basic remote stays free. Some features are part of Beam Premium. Checked against Beam 1.13.0, November 2026.

Which devices work

  • Hisense smart TVs running VIDAA.
  • VIDAA sets sold under other names, such as Toshiba and Edenwood.
  • The newest VIDAA sets, which give full control only to Hisense's own app. Where such a set still accepts them, Beam opens a limited remote with volume, mute, YouTube, Netflix and turning the TV on, and says so on screen.
  • Hisense sets with Google TV or Android TV pair like any other Google TV, and Hisense Roku TVs work as Roku TVs.

How to pair

  1. 01

Put your iPhone or iPad on the same Wi-Fi as the TV, not a guest network, and allow Local Network access when Beam asks.

  2. 02

Sign in with Apple or Google, then pick the Hisense from the list Beam shows. Keep the TV switched on.

  3. 03

Most sets show a four digit code. Type it in, or tap Scan with camera and point the camera at the screen. Some older sets connect straight away.

What you can do

  • D-pad, OK, Back, Home and Menu, volume and mute, channel up and down, power, and play, pause, stop, rewind and fast forward.
  • Swipe on the trackpad instead of pressing arrows.
  • Send photos and videos to many Hisense sets through the TV's built-in media sharing. The TV pulls them from your phone over your Wi-Fi.
  • Turn the TV back on from Beam, where the TV allows waking over the network.
  • VIDAA has no input key that other apps can send, so Beam leaves Input off the remote. Typing from the iPhone keyboard and quick launch are not available on VIDAA sets; the limited remote on the newest sets has its own YouTube and Netflix buttons.

If it doesn't work

Beam says my Hisense TV asks for a certificate.

The newest VIDAA sets give full control only to Hisense's own app. Where such a set still accepts volume, mute, YouTube, Netflix and power on, Beam opens a limited remote with just those controls and says so on screen. If the set accepts none of them, Beam tells you so.

Beam doesn't find my Hisense.

The phone and the TV have to be on the same Wi-Fi network, and guest networks usually keep devices apart. Check that Local Network access is on for Beam in iOS Settings, and that the TV is switched on.

Where is the input button?

VIDAA gives other apps no key for the input list, so Beam leaves it off the remote. Change inputs with the TV's own remote.

Other TVs Beam controls

Sony, VIZIO, Sharp, Panasonic, TCL, Vestel, Whale OS and Orange are on the full list of supported TVs, and the Hisense row has the short version of this page.
